Feel the power of pink - HMD launches pink devices in the UK
Pink is a colour, a desaturated shade of red. It is made by mixing red and white. The word roseus, meaning rosy, was also used by Lucretius in De rerum natura to describe the blush of dawn. Until the 1940s, pink was used for boys and blue for girls, as the former, as a relative of red, was seen as a more assertive, masculine colour, while the latter was seen as more subdued, and was also a common colour in the Virgin Mary's dress in art. This changed in the 1940s, and has since been reversed.
