HMD Global has quietly unveiled the new HMD Arc smartphone. The device is listed on the company's website with images and information, but the price and availability have not been confirmed.
The phone shares many similarities with the previous HMD Aura phone. The phone has a plastic build and comes in at least pink and black color variants. The dimensions are 166.4 x 76.9 x 8.95 mm and the weight is 185.4 grams. Depending on the market, the phone is IP52 or IP54 rated.
The phone features a 6.52-inch LCD display panel with HD+ resolution (1280 x 576). The display has a 20:9 aspect ratio, 60 Hz refresh rate, 460 nits brightness, and a teardrop notch for the front camera. Power is provided by the Unisoc 9863A SoC, which is paired with 4 GB of RAM. The HMD Arc has 64GB of internal storage, and supports up to 128GB memory cards.
The HMD Arc offers Bluetooth 5.2, USB-C, and a traditional headphone jack. The fingerprint reader is placed on the side. There is a speaker and a microphone. The battery is 5,000 mAh and can be charged at 10 watts via the USB-C connector. There are two cameras on the back, which are a 13-megapixel main camera with autofocus and a utility camera. A single 5-megapixel selfie camera is located on the front.
HMD uses the slimmed-down Android 14 Go operating system. The device is promised only 2 years of security updates, and no Android version can wait.
