Trump Phone - Has the "Made in the USA" Claim Quietly Disappeared?

Is it possible that Donald Trump's smartphone won't be made in the United States? It seems that the project has been betraying its promises from the start. When the Trump Organization launched its wireless carrier Trump Mobile, it also launched a flagship phone called the T1 Phone 8002 (gold version). One of the phone's main selling points was that it was made in America. Well, sometime in the past few days, it seems that the Trump Mobile page was purged of any language that suggested the phone would be made in the United States. (Like the huge banner on the home page that says the T1 is "MADE IN THE USA.")
In early June, US President Donald Trump's family announced the formation of Trump Mobile, a company to manufacture smartphones. The Trump T1 phone is "proudly designed and manufactured in the United States," according to the president's son, Donald Trump Jr. We've written about it before, but it seems that something has changed since then.
The Made in the USA mention, which indicates the country of manufacture, has quietly disappeared from the Trump Mobile website. It's been replaced by somewhat odd euphemisms that emphasize patriotism, such as "American-Proud Design." Instead, Trump Mobile's website now features what can only be described as vague, pro-American gestures toward smartphone manufacturing. The T1's new slogan is "Premium Performance. Proudly American." According to its website, the device is "designed with American values in mind," and "American hands are behind every device." The first thing you'll see under Key Features is "American-Proud Design." None of this indicates anything. Of course, it doesn't say that the device is made in the United States, or even designed in the United States. Just... some hands. In America.

The Trump T1 phone is also designed "with American values," and every device made is "backed by American hands." The phones, however, are apparently made elsewhere.
Earlier, a Trump Mobile spokesperson told The Financial Times that the phones would be made in the U.S. states of Alabama, California, and Florida, a claim that industry insiders have not actually confirmed. Trump's son, Eric Trump, later acknowledged that domestic production would begin "in due course."
In addition to the claims about the phone's country of manufacture, the technical details have also been quietly changed. The screen size has been reduced from 6.78 inches to 6.25 inches, along with a note about 12GB of RAM. However, shipments will begin "later this year" instead of "September."

Trump has previously been furious with Apple, which Despite the president’s high hopes, he has not moved production from China to the United States. Trump Mobile was supposed to be the president’s counterargument to those who point out the high costs of manufacturing in the United States, but it seems that the project was at least partially stalled from the start.
The Trump T1 Phone is available for pre-order now with a $100 down payment. The suggested retail price is $499 (GBP 363, EUR 426, INR 42,774), but it is not yet known what subscribers will ultimately receive.
