Helsingin Sanomat reported that the HR director was leaving Nokia before the case was filed, when she reported on Nokia's plans to cut thousands of jobs.
According to HS sources, Hotard's planned changes to Nokia's organization and operating methods have caused unrest among staff. There are reportedly fears within Nokia that the new CEO will change Nokia's way of operating to a more centralized one. Under the previous CEO, Pekka Lundmark, Nokia's four business groups were able to operate completely independently and were responsible for their own results.
Last year, Nokia employed an average of 78,400 employees. In Finland, Nokia employs around 6,600 people. Most of the cuts now planned would be directed abroad.
