HMD Global has introduced its new rugged series, the Nokia XR21, designed for the toughest conditions. The manufacturer even refers to it as "the intelligent equivalent of the legendary Nokia 3310". The body of the phone is made of 100% recycled aluminum, the durability of the display is ensured by Gorilla Glass Victus.

The novelty boasts a MIL-STD810H certificate, which guarantees that the phone can survive a drop from 1.8 meters to the ground, immersion in a depth of 1.5 meters for up to an hour, or resistance to splashing water at a temperature of 80°C, or . up to 100 bar pressure. And that's the pressure at which fire hoses burst.

Of course, the "regular" IP68 and IP69K certifications are also included, thanks to which the phone can handle temperature fluctuations between -20°C and 55°C. The display is provided by a 6.49" IPS display with Full HD+ resolution, 550 nits brightness, 120 Hz refresh rate, which, thanks to the increased sensitivity, can be operated even with wet hands or gloves. According to the press release, the phone has a year warranty also applies to the replacement of the display, but we do not yet know the exact terms of this.

The Nokia XR21 has a glass body and a plastic back. The front side is covered by Gorilla Glass Victus glass. The durable novelty meets IP68, IP69K and MIL-STD810H standards. The phone is equipped with a 4800 mAh battery that will keep you going for two full days. The manufacturer guarantees that even after 800 charging cycles, the remaining capacity of the battery will not drop below 80% of the original value. The maximum output power through the cable is 33 watts.

The main sensor on the plastic back has a resolution of 64 Mpx, which is assisted by an 8 Mpx wide-angle lens. The camera can rely on night modes, artificial intelligence or a combination of photos from both sensors. The cameras are protected by Gorilla Glass DX+. The selfie camera placed in the middle compartment has a resolution of 16 Mpx, on the body of the phone there is a side fingerprint reader, a USB-C connector, a 3.5 mm jack connector, an opening for two SIM cards and loud stereo speakers. (96 dB).

The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 695 5G chipset, followed by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The manufacturer promises four years of monthly updates and three years of Android operating system updates for the Nokia XR21. But practically there are only two next generations, because the phone will run on Android 12 out of the box. We take the update to the already quite common "thirteen" as a matter of course, and you get two years of another, larger system. updates.

Nokia XR21 in black and green colors, in addition to the standard two-year warranty, one more year will be available from the manufacturer but the final price and the exact availability of the phone have not been officially published yet.
