Nokia goes to court over the confusion of the Polish railway company PKP

The consortium building the PKP PLK GSM R telecommunications system applied to the arbitration court of the General Prosecutor's Office for mediation. In the same case, PLK also requested mediation. The amount of mutual claims exceeds PLN 6 billion. Passenger safety is also at stake.

About a dozen days ago, a tragedy almost happened on the main central railway line. The driver of an Intercity train traveling from Warsaw to Prague noticed a handcart and a group of workers making minor repairs on his track. He stopped at the last moment. The reason was human error, the railwaymen were given permission to carry out the work, but on the adjacent, parallel track.

At least three times in March, trains were diverted onto the wrong, conflicting tracks at the Warsaw railway junction. The train drivers followed the semaphore signals, which means that once again people make mistakes and misdirect the traffic.
