Nokia XR30 in green and black coming soon in the US

HMD Global will announce a new durable smartphone in the coming weeks, which will be the successor to the Nokia XR20 smartphone from a few years ago. The new phone could be called Nokia XR or Nokia XR30, but considering HMD's naming convention, the name could also be Nokia XR21.

Codenamed Nokia Sentry 5G, the phone was first leaked last year. The release of the phone is expected at the beginning of the year. Various official images of the device previously known only as the Nokia Sentry 5G, which may eventually go on sale as the Nokia XR or XR30. As you can see in the previously leaked advertising photo, the device has three cameras instead of two, but in the leaked photos (below) you can only see a phone with two cameras. It is true that HMD is preparing to announce two devices, namely the Nokia XR30 and Nokia XR21 smartphones in the US and later in the global markets, which are equipped with two and three cameras. The photo clearly shows that one of the devices has a 5000 mAh battery and also supports 15 W fast charging.

The Nokia "Sentry 5G" first appeared on HMD Global's roadmap in the fall of 2022, which at the time was probably accidentally seen in a presentation posted on YouTube by a manufacturer. It also included some initial hardware details, although the spec sheet is still not quite complete.

The device will probably be available in two color variants, which are black and green. On the front of the phone, there is a display panel with a camera hole and a thick bezel. At the latest, the massive structure of the plastic device is revealed from the back. The back has a box-like camera area with two cameras and an LED flash. In addition, there are the texts "XR" and "64MP AI Camera", the first of which refers to the name of the model and the last to the resolution of the camera.

There is an extra button on the left side of the phone that can probably be optimized by the user. On the right edge are the volume buttons and the power button with a built-in fingerprint reader. According to previously leaked information, the new Nokia phone would have 6 gigabytes of RAM and 128 gigabytes of internal storage. As expected, the 64-megapixel main camera is accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. There is a 16-megapixel selfie camera on the front.

The battery will have 4600 mAh and can be charged with a power of 33 watts. HMD Global is expected to launch the phone in the US in the coming weeks for around USD 499 (GBP 399, EUR 451, INR 40805). The phone is expected to be sold globally.
