HMD Global has launched the new Nokia 105 2G and Nokia 106 4G phones in India with built-in UPI 123PAY functionality, enabling users to make digital transactions securely and seamlessly.
Launched in 2016, UPI is now almost synonymous with payments in urban regions. However, since its use requires the installation of applications, its advantages cannot be taken advantage of without smartphones. Nokia aims to bridge this digital divide with its latest phones and enable financial access for all.

The newly announced Nokia 105 2023 and Nokia 106 are phones that have built-in UPI. This is made possible by UPI 123PAY, NPCI's instant payment system for phones that enables users to shop securely.
UPI 123PAY enables transactions based on four technological alternatives, namely calling the IVR (interactive voice response) number, app features in phones, missed calls approach and nearby voice payments.

As for the phones themselves… both devices are said to have incredible battery life and “the peace of mind and reliability you expect from Nokia phones”. According to Nokia, the Nokia 106 4G has been strengthened through rigorous durability tests to withstand rough use.
The displays use IPS LCD technology, which outperforms other forms of LCD such as PLS and TFT with better viewing angles and color reproduction. Meanwhile, the Nokia 105 is equipped with a 1000mAh battery, which is 25% larger than its predecessor. The more expensive Nokia 106 4G gets a bigger 1450 mAh capacity package.
Nokia 105 2023 and Nokia 106 4G will be available in India from May 18. The Nokia 105 will be available in Charcoal, Cyan and Red, while the Nokia 106 4G will be available in Charcoal and Blue.
