HMD Global today unveiled its latest smartphone, the HMD Fusion, an affordable device whose idea is to change functions and style with a shell. This is how the HMD Fusion will initially be distributed, but additional devices will be available later this year.

At the moment, only one new HMD device has been spotted in FCC testing, and all signs point to a 5G smartphone. It supports GSM-ET, WCDMA, LTE with carrier aggregation and 5G NR (including the n77 band with up to 100 MHz bandwidth). It also supports ENDC, SRS and Wi-Fi hotspot, as well as hearing aid compatibility - these are typical smartphone features. The device will only be available in the US market, which is expected to take a few weeks, as we have already seen after the FCC appearance.
The model number of the device is now TA-1704, which is already associated with the HMD 130 Music feature phone. This could indicate that HMD is reusing model codes for different markets or device types.
Based on the advanced connectivity and SAR details, unfortunately, this is not a feature phone. It could be part of the upcoming Pulse2 or Skyline lineup, possibly even targeting the North American market due to support for Band 13 (Verizon).
This is a filler list of possible upcoming phones, as tipped by Mr. Jackson for Nokiamob. New HMD smartphones coming:TA-1601 | TA-1672 | TA-1677 | TA-1719 | TA-1722 | TA-1731 | H1702V | H1715V |
The TA-1672 and TA-1677 could be the new Fusion SKUs (Fusion X1 and Barça Fusion), while the H1702V and H1715V are the US market models.
