HMD Global has launched its new Nokia C22 smartphone in India, which is aimed at light users who need good battery life from their phones. The Nokia C22 is the latest phone in HMD Global's affordable lineup in India. The new C22 is an entry-level phone, which means it's best suited for users who want to make phone calls, browse the web, and use apps like WhatsApp or Instagram.
HMD Global claims that the Nokia C22 offers durability and better drop protection thanks to its IP52 rating. This phone attracts a few more things for the customers. HMD Global has rolled out Android 13 (Go Edition) for the Nokia C22, making it one of the few entry-level phones to ship with the latest Android software. If you don't know, the Go edition of the Android version is trimmed down enough to run on phones with little memory. To make this possible, Google has optimized its applications for such phones.
The entry-level model of the Nokia C22 costs INR 7,999 (GBP 77, EUR 89 and USD 97), while the higher-end variant costs INR 8,499 (GBP 82, EUR 94 and USD 103). Available in charcoal, sand and purple. If you are a Jio Plus customer, you will get 100GB additional data in 10 months and INR 2,500 vouchers with the INR 399 plan.
The Nokia C22 has a 6.5-inch HD+ display that supports Auto HDR, which is software controlled. The phone uses a tempered 2.5D display glass and metal body for extra security. But if the body breaks, HMD claims a one-year replacement warranty. The Nokia C22 is powered by an octa-core Unisoc SC9863A processor with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage. The phone supports virtual RAM expansion up to 2GB. On the back of the phone, there is a 13MP main sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor that supports LED flash. On the front, you can see an 8 MP camera in the display notch. The phone has a 5000mAh battery, but it does not support fast charging. Nokia also included the power adapter in the box.
