The recently announced HMD Fusion smartphone has already become visible on the Geekbench list, in which HMD Global is testing it with the upcoming Android 15 operating system. The Fusion device scored 877 points in single-core and 2394 multi-core performance on Geekbench 6, which does not show the best potential of the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 (4 nm) used in the device. Further details on the availability of Android 15 are currently not available, but we are confident that HMD will soon make it available for the aforementioned Fusion device.
The device has a 6.56-inch IPS LCD display, which displays content with HD+ resolution through its 90 Hz refresh rate panel. There are two cameras on the back: a main camera with a 108-megapixel sensor and a 2-megapixel depth-of-field evaluator. The former has an electronic image stabilizer (EIS) that protects images from blurring, and its mobile system supports night mode, RAW format image recording, and the use of HDR. In short, the latter is intended to make the too dark parts of a recording brighter.
Behind the selfie camera is a 50-megapixel sensor. Inside the mobile, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor works, which can be accompanied by 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage space, but this can also be expanded using a microSD card. The system is served by a 5000 mAh battery, which can be charged at 33 W.
The mobile runs the Android 14 operating system, for which the manufacturer offers a two-year update guarantee. Security updates can arrive to the device for three years. The company allows users to perform simple repair work on the device themselves. For example, replacing the battery, display or other similarly important elements. The company will provide parts for mobile phones through iFixit for the next seven years.
According to HMD, the real specialty of the mobile is that it can be equipped with special smartphones. Three to be exact: one protects the device from falls and physical impacts in general, the other enables wireless charging, and the third has an LED light that can be turned forward from the back, which provides an external light source for selfies. The cases are connected to the phone with six special connectors, and their power supply is provided by the mobile battery. The company also allows users to design cases themselves and then make them using 3D printing, and with the developer tool, it allows custom functions to work.
