The HMD Amped Buds, which HMD Global unveiled to the world at MWC in Barcelona, are now available in the UK for just GBP 179 (EUR 213, USD 230, INR 20104) and are currently available in three colours: Cyan, Black and Pink (Out of stock).
HMD’s latest earbuds not only have a unique design, but also come in a special case that does double duty as a (wireless) charging power bank. This also means they have incredible battery life.
HMD has announced a new pair of earbuds called the HMD Amped Buds, and it’s describing them as the world’s first wireless earbuds with a charging case that wirelessly charges smartphones that support wireless charging. In a nutshell, it’s a pair of earbuds with a case that doubles as a wireless charging power bank.
The HMD Amped Buds are an unusual-looking pair of in-ear earbuds. The earbuds themselves, with their hinged design and stem, come in a charging case that’s completely different from their rivals. Instead of the clamshell case found on the AirPods Pro 2 or the OnePlus Buds Pro 3 (currently available on Amazon for $144), the earbuds are stored on the side of an ultra-slim case, similar to a power bank.

The case’s form factor isn’t just for aesthetic purposes, as it actually doubles as a wireless charging power bank that can be used to charge a phone that supports wireless charging or magnetic wireless charging. And if your phone doesn’t support wireless charging, you can still top up the battery by charging it through the case’s USB-C port. While you won’t be able to fully charge your phone, as the case’s battery capacity is 1,600 mAh. However, it can come in handy if you find yourself in a pinch.
The case’s large battery capacity also means you get several hours of battery life with the earbuds. HMD says users can expect up to 95 hours of playback time with the charging case, but that drops to 58 hours with ANC on. For those who want more specific numbers, the earbuds, which have a 35 mAh battery, can last up to 4.9 hours with ANC on and 8.1 hours with ANC off.
The HMD Amped Buds feature 10mm drivers, active noise cancellation (ANC) and ambient noise cancellation (ENC), and support Qualcomm Snapdragon Sound. Each earbud has three microphones for crystal-clear calls. The earbuds support touch controls and can even be used to activate virtual assistants like Google Gemini.
The HMD Amped Buds support Find My Device on Android, so owners can find them if they get lost. They connect via Bluetooth 5.4 with support for Google Fast Pair, and can pair with two devices at once, with seamless switching between the two. They also have an IP54 rating for protection against dust and sweat.
