HMD Global is about to introduce Ampd Buds, magnetic charging earphones designed to pair seamlessly with Skyline phones and offer 5 hours of playback. HMD Global, known for reviving Nokia-branded phones, has introduced its first in-house branded earphones, the HMD Ampd Buds.

These earphones have recently passed the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certification, indicating an imminent release, which will soon be available in the US market.

The HMD Ampd Buds earphones are available in three stylish colors - blue, black and pink - to perfectly match HMD's Skyline smartphone lineup. The standout feature of these earphones is the innovative charging case that features a magnetic mechanism. This allows the case to securely attach to the back of the Skyline phone, enabling reverse wireless charging.

While the detailed battery specifications of the charging case remain undisclosed, the earbuds themselves are equipped with a 35mAh battery. This should provide up to 5 hours of uninterrupted music playback. It seems that HMD Global is aiming for a simplified ecosystem by linking the Ampd Buds and Skyline smartphones.

This synergy not only increases user convenience, but also aligns with HMD’s strategy to create coherent and connected devices. As HMD takes a bold step into the audio accessory market, the Ampd Buds earbuds reflect a blend of functionality, style, and seamless integration with the wider HMD ecosystem.
