Virtual business visit to Nokia in Oulu

N okia, Oulu City Workers and the Oulu Talent Hub will host the world’s largest virtual business visit to Nokia’s Oulu unit on May 12th. More than 4,000 participants from all over Oulu and Northern Finland have already pre-registered for the event.

The event is a concrete example of the collaboration that has made an impact. The event will be attended by the entire school, individual groups and classes, and international experts.

During the visit, children and young people of all ages will be introduced to the opportunities of Nokia and the technology industry. During the day, they make personal visits to early childhood education units, primary and secondary schools, vocational schools, high schools and colleges. The main language of the event is Finnish, but the section for students is English. Anyone can take part in any part of the event.

Mervi Holster-Hemmi and Riikka Turpeinen from Nokia said: “Working with educational institutions is extremely important to Nokia. Eemeli Alanne, a teacher of entrepreneurship education in Oulu, said: “Through real-life examples, we learn about the different opportunities and skills in the world of work and technology. We wanted to create a unique learning package that inspires children and young people of all ages”.
