Trump Mobile T1 Phone Reshuffled Again – Executives Unveil New Model

T rump Mobile made headlines last year when it announced its own Android phone. However, the device remained largely a mystery after the crash, and its fate was repeatedly questioned. Now, the matter has been further clarified, as Trump Mobile has confirmed that the phone is still on the way.

The launch of the Trump Mobile phone, which bears the name of the President of the United States, fell through last year, but the Trump phone was not canceled and the project continues. The Verge interviewed Trump Mobile executives Don Hendrickson and Eric Thomas, who said that the project faced last-minute challenges. As a result, both the design and technical features of the phone had to be updated, which led to several delays in its release.

On the outside, the T1 Phone has a more impressive camera island, where the cameras are stacked vertically on top of each other. The model just unveiled has an oval-shaped camera bump in the upper left corner of the back, with a black background and the Trump Mobile inscription. There are three camera lens locations, but it is not clear whether each one has a camera. One significant change, however, is that the T1 logo has been completely removed from the body of the device.

On the other hand, the gold paint job and the appearance emphasizing the American flag still remain in the spotlight. According to the Trump Mobile website, the phone will be assembled in the United States, although the components are also manufactured elsewhere. Technically, the T1 Phone does not really fit into the high-end category. The heart of the phone is the mid-range Snapdragon 7-series SoC, which provides 512 GB of storage. In addition, the storage can be expanded up to a terabyte with a microSD card. The battery capacity has been confirmed at 5,000 mAh, which is a relatively standard number by today's standards.

On the camera side, there's a 50-megapixel main camera on the back, complemented by a separate zoom and ultra-wide camera. The front camera also has a resolution of 50 megapixels, which sounds impressive on paper, although it doesn't really stand out from the competition.

Pricing, however, raises questions. Trump Mobile says the T1 Phone will be priced in the $500-$1,000 range, which is well above the previously promised $499 (GBP 364, EUR 419, INR 45,153). Except for customers who have already paid the $100 (GBP 73, EUR 83, INR 9,049) down payment, they will still get the device for the original $499. The company describes the T1 Phone as a flagship in terms of its feel and performance, but given the current market situation, the promise seems ambitious. In 2026, the smartphone market is evolving rapidly, and a mid-range SoC, a relatively conventional camera set, and a basic battery capacity may not necessarily justify a price tag close to a thousand dollars.
