The smartphone bearing Donald Trump's name has seriously fallen behind schedule, having been scheduled to hit the US market in August and later in September. It's now October, but the much-anticipated phone has still not been released and is still unavailable for purchase.
The Trump Mobile T1 was supposed to hit the market in September, but the phone has yet to be shipped to pre-orders. The original release window was announced in August or September, but neither date materialized.
This is the Trump brand's flagship, touted in gold with mid-range Android features. The official name of the T1 Phone 8002, according to the website, is 256GB of expandable storage, a 6.25-inch AMOLED display, an under-display fingerprint scanner, and AI-based facial recognition. On the camera side, there would be a 50-megapixel main camera, 2-megapixel depth and macro sensors, and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. The battery is 5,000 mAh and supports 20W fast charging via USB-C 2.0. The operating system was announced as Android 15.
However, there were also question marks surrounding the phone's origins. Previously, Trump Mobile advertised the model as a "made in America" model, but this statement has slowly disappeared from the website. Currently, the device is only "designed with American values," but what this means in practice remains unclear.
The Trump Mobile T1 is priced at $499 (GBP 371, EUR 425, INR 44,269), but it is currently available for pre-order for just $100. The price includes a month of Trump Mobile, which has received mostly negative feedback from users about hidden costs, unreliable functionality, and poor customer service.
