The legendary English artist Sting will give a concert in Tampere and Helsinki on September 20 at the Nokia Arena and on September 22 at the Helsinki Ice Hall as part of his My Songs world tour.
Originally, as you have already read, the concert was planned for July 3, 2022, which was canceled by the organizers. Of course, previously purchased tickets are valid for the date of the concert, so fans will not be left without a Sting concert.
Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, CBE, better known as Sting (Wallsend, October 2, 1951 -), born in Wallsend (North Tyneside, in the north of England) is an English musician, singer-songwriter, activist, actor.
He was nominated for an Oscar and won sixteen Grammys. Until the beginning of his solo career, he was the main lyricist, lead singer and bass guitarist of the band The Police. As a solo singer and lead singer of The Police, he has sold more than 100 million records. He received his first Grammy Award in 1984.
In January 1977, Sting moved from Newcastle to London and soon after, together with Stewart Copeland and Henri Padovani (he was later replaced by Andy Summers), they founded the legendary new wave band The Police. Between 1978 and 1983, they released five chart-topping albums and won six Grammy Awards.
Although their music was initially characterized by a punk sound, The Police soon switched to reggae rock and minimalist pop music. Their last album, Synchronicity, contained their most successful tracks, such as Every Breath You Take, which was released in 1983.
Although they never really broke up, after Synchronicity they agreed that they would all focus on their solo careers. As the years passed, the band members, especially Sting, increasingly rejected the possibility of a re-formation. In 2007, The Police reunited and announced a world tour.Via Link
