Nokia's new radio campus in Oulu is under construction

N okia is investing in the product development and manufacturing of the radio site in Oulu by building a new campus in Linnanmaa, Oulu. The foundation stone of the campus under construction was laid yesterday in a ceremonial setting, and the new product development, office and production facilities are scheduled to be completed in 2025.

The area of ​​Nokia's new campus in the Linnanmaa-Ritaharju district is approximately 91,000 square meters, and the area of ​​the offices there is approximately 55,000 square meters. Several speeches were given at the foundation stone laying ceremony. In addition to the chairman of the board of Nokia, Sari Baldauf and Tommi Uito, the Minister of Economy Mika Lintilä, the mayor of Oulu Päivi Laajala and Tom Ekman, director of the YIT Premises segment, also spoke at the event.

"The Home of Radio campus in Oulu is a globally important unit for us, and the start of construction is an important milestone. We have excellent radio and system circuit expertise in Oulu, in which we have invested significantly in recent years through new recruitments," said Tommi Uitto, Head of Nokia's Mobile Networks business and Country Manager Finland.

The area of ​​Nokia's new campus in the Linnanmaa-Ritaharju area is approximately 91,000 square meters. Nokia's new smart campus using natural materials creates even more comprehensive opportunities for research, development and product manufacturing. The offices combine state-of-the-art technology and sustainable development, and their design also takes into account the flexible working methods of the future.

"Nokia's new campus is a significant investment that strengthens the vitality of the entire region. Especially in times like these, every new investment is an important and valuable message that it is worth investing and building in Finland," said Economy Minister Mika Lintilä.

The project is being built by Nokia, the contractor is YIT, and the main architect is Arkkitehtoimisto ALA. LCN Capital Partners is responsible for financing the project. In connection with the groundbreaking ceremony, new visual images of the smart campus of the future were announced, some of which are attached.

The campus consists of two parts, where the office part includes eight floors of flexible space for modern office work. In the middle of the industrial part there is a flexible hall divided by an inner street with a glass roof. Its heart is the restaurant hall between the industrial and office areas.
