Due to increased production of passenger car tires, Nokian Tires is employing 80 new people at Nokia. According to the company, demand for tires in its main markets has been growing steadily during the year and remains strong.

Nokian Tires, a manufacturer of vehicle tires, announces that it will increase production due to high demand. The company is moving to an uninterrupted three-shift system for passenger car tires at its Nokia plant.

Nokian Tires, headquartered in Nokia, Finland, manufactures tires for cars, trucks, buses and heavy-duty equipment. Known for its winter tires, Nokian is the only tire manufacturer to have its own permanent winter tire testing station in the world. The company's Hakkapeliitta brand is known as a reputable brand in Finland. Nokian Tires focuses on the consumer car and vehicle tire replacement and premium winter tire market; they do not supply tires to car manufacturers to make new cars.

"Demand for tires in our main markets has been growing steadily throughout the year and will continue to be strong. We are increasing our capacity at the Nokian plant and increasing our production of passenger car tires. We want to ensure the availability of our successful products," said Manu Salmi.

In the production of passenger car tires, Nokia switched to four shifts six days a week in August. Early next year, the factory will work five shifts seven days a week. The company hired 120 people for Nokia this year. In total, it has created 200 new jobs for Nokia in just over a year.
