At Nokia, we create technology that helps the world act together. As a trusted partner to the world's mission-critical networks, we jointly deliver purpose-built mission-, business-, and society-critical network innovations to more than 2,200 customers in asset-intensive industries and the public sector worldwide.

Nokia has been operating in the UK for three decades and plays a key role in the UK's critical national infrastructure, supporting all major telecommunications providers and supplying equipment and services to a wide range of enterprise and public sector customers that provide bridging infrastructure for transport, energy, utilities, Government, Defense, Manufacturing and Logistics.

In addition to cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning and mobile edge computing, Nokia's 4G and 5G technology is a recognized enabler of Industry 4.0. We see 4.0 as the automation of everything, which is transforming manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, retail and many other industries with a wide range of use cases.

In the UK, we worked with NEAA on a pioneering pilot project using pioneering 5G technology in an operational logistics environment at Vantec/Nissan's Sunderland site. The team successfully tackles the challenge of last-mile logistics - remote control of a 40-ton truck.

Nokia is working with hundreds of organizations to identify the practical steps they need to take to ensure their business is ready for 5G, where operational, productivity, security and even revenue-generating use cases can be found to manage the overall business case.

Lee Hargadon, Head of Nokia Enterprise UK&I, said: “We are proud to partner with NEAA and look forward to supporting the upcoming Expo event. Understanding the challenges and opportunities of our target market segments is critical to our mutual success, and associations like NEAA provide great insight into how we can design solutions that deliver valuable results.”

NEAA CEO Paul Butler said: “It's great to be working with such a major brand as Nokia, who are partner sponsors of this year's Expo. NEAA and Nokia have built a close partnership over the past year working together on the 5G CAL pilot project, and we will showcase some of the project's successes at the event.”
