N okia has announced the launch of the 5G Innov Lab platform as part of its France Recovery plan. The Nokia-led platform aims to test and integrate 5G industrial applications using an open and transversal approach; and unites various entities including Airbus Secure Land Communications, Augmented Acoustics, Digital Immersion, IMT, SNEF Lab, Nokia Bell Labs and Paris-Saclay Hardware Accelerator.

With a wide range of partners, the 5G Innov Lab platform allows you to better understand and anticipate new uses for 5G. The open and scalable platform is designed to adapt to new use cases and new partners. The 5G Innov Lab platform will rely on a 5G private network of different frequencies (2.6 GHz TDD, 26 GHz and 3.8-4.2 GHz bands. will focus on areas.

With the Nokia LaaS (Lab as a Service) at the Paris-Saclay site, companies in the rail, urban and energy transport sectors, as well as local authorities, can test future uses in 5G and private wireless networks. (4.9 / LTE and 5G) environment. Testing will be based on the deployment of 5G infrastructure on the Nokia Paris-Saclay campus or at customer sites for all industrial applications; and SNEF Group Lab for rail, industrial and mining applications.

The aim is to coordinate the first experiments in the 26 GHz band as part of the allocation of these experimental frequencies by ARCEP and to deploy the 26 GHz infrastructure at all affected sites. The experiments cover diverse sectors such as the port connected to the port of Le Havre; the stadium connected to the National Veltodrome; the city associated with Paris La Défense; and a museum linked to the Cité des Sciences. These experiments will enable the validation of 26 GHz technology, the emergence of new uses and services, and new business models integrating new entrants.

The Innov Lab 5G platform will enable the demonstration of the power of 5G in all these new applications and support the work of other 5G platforms launched by BPI (Banque Publique d’Investissement) as part of the 5G Call. Projects including 5G Open Road, 5G Living Lab, 5G mMTC and 5G Maritime Perf platforms.

Pierre-Gaël Chantereau, president of Nokia in France, said: “It is 5G will play a critical role in the transformation of the industry and the verticals, and this Nokia-led platform will allow the development of new applications in France with the support of all partners. France has a number of instruments, supported by both historical and new actors, and cooperation between these actors is essential to accelerate development and guarantee our competitiveness at European and global level".
