The city of Oulu has approved the construction permit for Nokia's new industrial building. Under certain conditions, work can begin in the city of Linnanmaa even before the permit decision becomes final.
Nokia is moving from Ruskó in Oulu to the area of the new campus in Linnanmaa, where a nine-story office building and four-story industrial facilities are being built. The building board of the city of Oulu has approved the first building permit for Nokia's new premises. Under certain conditions, work on the four-story industrial building can begin even before the authorization decision becomes final.
Nokia is building a new site for more than 2,500 employees in Linnanmaa. In addition to the industrial premises, a 9-story office building is planned for the area, the building permit of which will be processed later. The cost estimate for the campus project was previously almost 200 million euros. The Northern Ostrobothnia Student Housing Foundation, which is building a 16-story tower block for students in the Välkkylä area, also received a construction permit on Wednesday. They mention that the project's first building permit for the Nokia industrial building has just been approved. The licensing procedure for the office building is later.
