Nokia is building an energy center at the smart campus in Oulu

The project received state support of 12 million euros. The total investment value of the energy center is around 65 million euros. The Ministry of Labor and Economy granted Nokia a EUR 12 million RRF energy investment subsidy, the company said in a statement.
Nokia is building a new smart campus in Linnanmaa, Oulu, which will include product development, office and production facilities.
An energy center is planned in connection with the campus, which will consist of, among other things, a heat pump plant, electricity storage, a solar power plant, two-way charging of electric cars, a hydrogen fuel cell, a sprinkler pool serving as cold battery storage, and a new substation.
According to the company's press release, the campus and the energy center are scheduled to be completed in early 2025, and negotiations are underway with partners to start construction. The new campus is being built by Nokia, the builder is YIT, and the main architect is Arkkitehtoimisto ALA. LCN Capital Partners is responsible for the financing.
