N okia has just unveiled the results of a groundbreaking new broadband technology that is already making current speeds more than ridiculously slow.

If you thought broadband was slow, wait until you see what Nokia has achieved. While millions of homes in the UK are still struggling with sad downloads, Nokia has unveiled a new technology that is taking internet speeds to a whole new level.

In fact, the company claims to have been able to collect files over the Internet at 100 Gbps. At such a fast pace, it takes just a second to download a full HD movie or four seconds to install a highly successful PS5 game. By comparison, homes with a standard 70 Mbps connection (the current UK average) have to wait more than seven minutes to watch a movie and about two hours before they can play that PS5. The upgrade is thanks to so-called 100G PON technology, which can blow the World Wide Web at a much faster rate.
