T oday in the StreamView store, photos and specifications of Nokia's Gamepad, which have not yet been officially announced, can be seen. Unfortunately, they have now been partially removed, but fortunately, several photos and specifications have been saved and are still available on the online interface. The iconic Nokia brand will soon adorn the game controller.
Nokia is currently focused on network devices, but the brand itself is also strongly present in other product categories. For example, Finnish HMD Global makes smartphones and tablets, while StreamView makes smart TVs. A Nokia game controller from the same company is also coming soon. The Nokia controller has a built-in vibration motor.
The Nokia 5000GC game controller suddenly appeared in StreamView's online store, where the product page has since been removed. Externally, it's a very traditional gamepad designed for use with Nokia-branded Android TV smart TVs.
According to the current information, it seems that the Nokia gamepad is only compatible with smart TVs of the same brand. However, there is no certainty about this. The controller has two analogues, a cross key and various function keys, and as a special function it also includes a hotkey for the virtual assistant Google Assistant.
The Nokia 5000GC connects to a smart TV using Bluetooth, and the sales package includes a small receiver that can be connected to the USB-A connector to pair the controller. The charging cable is also included in the package. The first Nokia gamepad also features a vibration motor and a six-axis gyroscope to detect movement.
Based on a quick listing on StreamView's online store, the price of the Nokia 5000GC game controller is around €50. A black game controller will also be introduced soon, but the exact date is not yet known.
