CES or the International Consumer Electronics Show is the premium event of the technology sector. It will take place between January 9 and 12, 2024 at the usual location, the Las Vegas Convention Center, where HMD Global, or HMD America, will now also be present. This year, the Finnish company that operates Nokia-branded devices rented a booth in Murano 3201A, which is the location of the meeting. Last year, HMD struck a similar deal and unveiled several US-based devices.

N okia has dismissed speculation that Samsung is buying its mobile network business. The Finnish telecommunications giant issued a statement confirming its commitment to the division.
"Nokia has nothing to announce regarding the speculation published in today's article and no related insider projects,"the company said. "In addition to the success of Nokia's dedicated mobile network business, which is a highly strategic asset for both Nokia and its customers."
The company highlighted the division's recent progress, stating, "The business has made significant progress this year in both right-sizing the cost base, protecting the product development schedule, winning new business with new customers and increasing share with existing customers."
The Bloomberg report, citing unnamed sources familiar with the matter, suggested that Nokia was exploring various scenarios, including selling part or all of the division, spinning it off or merging with a competitor. The article claimed that negotiations are still in their infancy and that Nokia could ultimately decide against any transaction.
The mere suggestion of such a deal had a significant impact on Nokia's share price, with shares rising more than 7% on Thursday to trade at around $4.48 on the New York Stock Exchange. According to industry analysts, Nokia's mobile network unit could be worth around $10 billion.
As the telecommunications industry continues to evolve, particularly with the deployment of 5G networks worldwide, Nokia's mobile network business remains a key player. The company has worked to streamline operations and improve competitiveness in recent years as it faces off against rivals such as Ericsson and Huawei.
While Nokia's statement appears to put the brakes on immediate speculation, industry observers continue to monitor the situation. A possible sale or reorganization of Nokia's mobile network business could have far-reaching consequences for the global telecommunications environment.
For now, Nokia seems determined to continue with its current strategy; focusing on innovation and customer relationships in the mobile network industry.
