In addition to the financial reports for the second quarter and half of 2022 published today, Nokia again increased its net income in Latin America in the second quarter. The supplier's sales in the region reached 275 million euros between April and June, which represents an organic growth of 5%.
The indicator rose primarily due to Latin American demand for mobile networks, the company points out in its balance sheet published on Thursday, the 21st. North America (+19% revenue) and the Middle East and Africa (+15%) also achieved relevant results.
Globally, the Finnish company's revenue grew organically by 3% (to 5,873 million euros), also with the help of the mobile division, which increased again worldwide (+1%, to 2,593 million euros). The most outstanding result of the quarter was achieved in the field of network infrastructure, with an organic revenue increase of 12%, to 2.153 billion euros. While the cloud and network services division remained stable (€753 million), Nokia Technologies' revenue (€305 million) fell by 26%.
The area's performance was one of the reasons the supplier's operating margins fell, falling from 12.8% to 12.2% in a year. Nokia's comparable operating profit increased by 5% in the second quarter to 714 million euros compared to the same period last year.
In addition to Nokia Technologies, which is going through the renewal phase of important contracts, the supplier also mentioned additional risk factors in the second quarter balance sheet: the persistence of logistical risks, especially in the segment of mobile networks, the possibility. new closures in some markets, as well as macroeconomic uncertainties and exchange rate fluctuations affecting emerging countries. Still, the company was optimistic about reaching its 2022 targets.
