N okia is releasing several new QLED smartphones that are now available from StreamView retailers with multiple screen diagonals.

Those looking for a high-definition smart TV can view the new Nokia-branded QLED models marketed by StreamView, the European licensee for Nokia-branded smartphones and set-top boxes. StreamView unveiled its Nokia smart TV with QLED technology last September, which you may have watched before.

StreamView has now announced that it will launch new-sized Nokia smartphones with QLED with a total of five different diagonals. The service provider says QLED technology should deliver stunning brightness and color choices. It doesn't matter if it's a light or a dark room. The new smart TVs also have Android TV on board, giving you access to the Google Play Store. More than 7,000 apps need to be available specifically to use smart TV, including important streaming services like Netflix, Disney +, Amazon Prime Video and YouTube.

But what is QLED technology? Quantum dots are very small crystals made of a special material with a diameter of 2 to 8 nanometers (one millionth of a millimeter) in diameter, which have the ability to refract light in different ways depending on their size. QLED televisions contain a special, very thin layer of film that has been richly sprinkled with billions of such quantum dots. This layer of film, that is, an army of translucent, very small spheres on it, got into the TVs, precisely between the light-emitting diodes that provide the backlight and the liquid crystal panel that contains the color filters and the pixels themselves.

Swivel-foot smart TVs allow a variety of picture settings for sports, filming and gaming, with a response time of 8 ms and settings such as dynamic contrast and UHD upscaling. As for sound, the new models should have a built-in subwoofer and rich bass. The connection options are three HDMI and two USB ports, LAN, audio / video connection, WLAN and Bluetooth. The models also have a triple tuner for DVB-T2 (antenna), DVB-S2 (satellite) and DVB-C (TV cable) live TV. There is a CI + slot for cards that are compatible with pay TV.

Chromecast technology is also built in, allowing you to stream content from the right apps to your TV screen. Voice input is possible with Google Now via the remote control, which also has two physical buttons for Netflix and YouTube streaming services.

The smart Nokia QLED 4K UHD TVs are now 43 inches for 649 euros (GBP 544, USD 733 and CAD 929), 55 inches for 849 euros (GBP 713, USD 959 and CAD 1215), 58 inches for 899 euros (GBP 755, USD 1016 and CAD 1287) and are available in 70-inch Euro 1499 (GBP 1259, USD 1695 and CAD 2146) sizes. In addition, the 65-inch model is available at a suggested retail price of € 1199 (GBP 1007, USD 1355 and CAD 1716). At the end of January, a 50-inch model will be available for 749 euros (GBP 628, USD 847 and CAD 1071).
