N okia Mobile has announced three new affordable phones and a new manufacturing strategy. The new Nokia phones don't feature top-of-the-line hardware, interesting because Nokia Mobile continues to strive for longevity of its products.
Nokia Mobile also announced that in the future phones intended for EU markets will be manufactured in the EU. Details of the assembly plants have not yet been released, but the first phone assembled in the EU will be a 5G phone for industry partners, and C2B phones will also be assembled later. This is just another example of how HMD Global is improving its security promise to key industries. HMD follows the "Software security and privacy built in" approach, and since 2019 all customer and company data is stored and processed on servers in Finland.
Nokia G22
The new phone at MWC2023 is the Nokia G22, an update to the Nokia G21 that also brings to light the collaboration between Nokia Mobile and iFixit. We've already seen Samsung partner with iFixit to make its phones more repairable for users. Nokia Mobile is doing the same with the Nokia G22, the first phone that owners can repair with simple tools like a guitar pick and iFixit service guides. Interestingly, the warranty is not affected by these repairs and Nokia Mobile guarantees that the IP52 water resistance will remain after the repair. Owners should be able to replace the battery, bent USB port, back cover, and display. According to Nokia Mobile, owners who are not experienced repairmen should replace the battery in about 5 minutes and the display in 20 minutes. Nokia Mobile offers replacement parts through iFixit websites or partners where iFixit is not available. In addition, replacement parts for the G22 are available for 5 years.

The new G22 also features a 100% recycled plastic back and offers OZO playback, two years of Android updates, three years of monthly security updates and an extended three-year warranty. It's nice to see that although the back cover is removable, the inner case is made of aluminum to increase the integrity of the case.
This phone offers auto-wipe, which allows users to manually clear the cache for a smoother experience, as well as the “Excluded Apps” feature, which allows you to choose when and where power goes with the push of a button. There is also the memory expansion or the additional 2 GB of RAM, which is taken from the unused memory space.
The Nokia G22 will be available in Meteor Gray and Lagoon Blue colors in 4/64GB and 4/128GB memory and storage configurations starting at £149.99 (EUR 168, USD 177 and INR 14752) at Nokia.com . Nokia C32
The Nokia C32 is a phone that brings some X30 features to the affordable C series phones. The phone has a 50 MP camera and X series imaging algorithms. The design follows the lines of the higher-end lineup, which is clearly visible in the shape of the body and the camera module, but there are some also fine design, such as the tempered glass surface and the elegant, straight side panels. However, the phone would look even better without the 50 MP AI camera text on the camera module. Since this model was developed recently, it comes with Android 13 operating system. Interestingly, this phone also has an IP52 rating, making it resistant to occasional drops of water.

Nokia C22
The Nokia C22 is the top-of-the-line Android 13 GO edition built for tough use. Nokia Mobile tested the phone to the hilt and the phone outperformed all competitors like Xiaomi and Samsung in the same category. The Nokia C22 features IP52 splash and dust protection, 2.5D tempered display glass, and a rugged metal body encased in a durable polycarbonate design. The 13MP main camera is equipped with advanced in-house imaging algorithms that allow you to capture more detailed photos in all lighting conditions. Android 13 GO is optimized to offer users more storage space.
The Nokia C22 is available in Midnight Black and Sand colors with 2/64GB and 3/64GB storage and memory configurations starting at €109.99 (GBP 96, USD 114 and INR 9531) at Nokia.com/phones.
Nokia Mobile also announced the new Nokia 65W dual-port wall charger, which has a body made from 70% recycled materials and, more importantly, is compatible with all USB-C cables that support fast charging. The new dual charger will reportedly be available on Nokia's online store, but the price has not been confirmed yet.
