In the changes, it was announced that Nokia’s CTO Nishant Batra has decided to step down from his position and from Nokia’s leadership team effective September 30. Nokia has announced two new organizations: Technology and Artificial Intelligence, and Strategy and Development.
"The changes are aimed at strengthening technological innovation, supporting business development, and improving focus on technology, strategy, and business development," Nokia said. The new organizations will start operations on October 1."
Nokia has appointed Pallavi Mahajan as Chief Technology and AI Officer and Konstanty Owczarek as Chief Strategy and Development Officer. Mahajan and Owczarek will join Nokia's leadership team in early October.

The new Technology and AI organization will deliver significant value to both us and our customers." Nokia's new Technology and AI organization is designed to drive technology and AI development, integrate cybersecurity and Nokia Bell Labs expertise. The organization will be led by Pallavi Mahajan, who previously led Intel's data center and AI software business.
According to a Nokia press release, Mahajan brings deep expertise in networking technology, software and AI. Prior to joining Nokia, Mahajan held several leadership positions, including vice president of innovation for Intel, networking, cloud, edge computing and AI. In addition, Mahajan was responsible for developing HPE's supercomputing programs and the company's hybrid cloud strategy, and developing autonomous networks for Juniper Networks.

The organization is led by Konstanty Owczarek, who Nokia says has extensive experience in business development, investment banking, and investment and strategy management. Prior to joining Nokia, he held senior positions at HPE, where he was responsible for R&D and strategy for HPE's high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, and labs businesses, including the strategic transition to generative artificial intelligence and operational leadership of product lifecycle management. Prior to HPE, he served as Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer for AIG's Life and Pensions business."

Nokia will host a Capital Markets Day on November 19, where new CEO Justin Hotard is expected to provide further information about the future of Nokia.
