The certification of the recently announced Nokia G42 5G smartphone has already appeared in the BIS Indian certification database, so we can say with certainty that it will soon be available for purchase in the country. In addition to the Nokia XR21, which was certified in April, the Nokia G42 5G appeared in the BIS certification. The device (TA-1581) was first registered with BIS on July 3 as manufactured by Guangdong Enok and predictably now it seems that the company has changed its plans as the Nokia G42 5G will be the brand's first 5G smartphone to be manufactured in India.

On August 9, the device (TA-1581 and TA-1586) was again registered with BIS by a Noida-based manufacturer called Padget (Dixon). During the global launch of Nokia G42 5G, Wion by Zee Media reported that the India launch will happen by September.
The display size is 6.56 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen that provides a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels. The internal storage is 128GB which supports 4GB, 8GB RAM. Performance is ensured by the Qualcomm SM4350-AC Snapdragon 480+ 5G octa-core processor, while the GPU is Adreno 619.

The smartphone has got a triple camera on the back, consisting of 50 MP (wide) + 8 MP (macro) + 2 MP (depth) and an 8 MP (wide) camera on the front. The Nokia G42 is powered by a non-removable Li-Po 5000mAh + 20W wired, PD3.0, QC3. Sensors include side-mounted fingerprint, accelerometer, compass and proximity sensor.
The device is available in gray and purple colors. It has features like GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS, FM radio, RDS, recording, Bluetooth 5.1 and USB Type-C 2.0, OTG, and runs on Android 13. The device measures 165 x 75.8 x 8.6 mm and weighs 193.8 grams.
