A lmost a month ago (Friday, May 28, 2021), you could see leaked photos of Nokia Solo Bud + (SB-201) from HMD Global’s first mono Bluetooth headset on the U.S. FCC, whose Bluetooth certification revealed it was planning to introduce a premium version of HMD Global.
The FCC has also released test reports and images of the Nokia Clarity Solo Bud + (SB-501) which you can of course view. HMD Global mentions that there is another solo earphone, the SB-401, with a different name and color, but identical to the SB-501. These models have a similar design factor as the SB-201 headset, but the multifunction button (MFB) covers more than half of the front side, while there is an LED indicator light (blue or red) on the other side.
Use the multifunction key to play or pause music, answer and end calls, or reject calls and activate the voice assistant. The volume keys are on the right (front view) and the microphone is on the bottom of the back cover. Unlike the SB-201, the Clarity Solo Bud + has a Type C USB port on top. The earplug is IPX4 rated, which protects against splashing water from any direction. The retail box includes three different sized (small, medium and large) earbuds and a USB C cable. As certified by BT SIG, the Bluetooth 5-supported Nokia Clarity Solo Bud + uses Sky Wing Communication Electronics product design.
