HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, today introduced the new Nokia C32 and Nokia C22, the popular C-series smartphones that offer advanced imaging at an even more affordable price. Just before MWC 2023 officially kicks off, Nokia has unveiled a new wave of affordable smartphones - and they're coming soon. The Nokia G22 is likely to turn heads with its smart approach to repairability, but the Nokia C22 and C32 look impressive in the ultra-budget arena.
“The Nokia C32 redefines what's possible in an affordable smartphone. It has the most advanced camera in the C series yet to give people high-quality photos at an exceptional value. We believe value shouldn't sacrifice design, so we've used a tempered glass finish, usually seen in premium designs, to make the Nokia C32 look as good as it looks in the pictures.” Adam Ferguson, Head of Product Marketing at HMD Global.
The Nokia C22 comes with an octa-core 1.6GHz Unisoc 9863A1 chipset, along with 2GB or 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage (expandable up to 256GB via microSD). As for the Nokia C32, we can get a little extra for our money. It uses the same Unisoc 9863A1 chipset as the Nokia C22 and the same amount of internal storage (64GB), but can be configured with 3GB or 4GB of RAM. One thing to note is that unlike the C22, this phone is running a full-fat version of Android 13, so it will be interesting to see how they differ in performance.
"The C-series is about maximum quality at minimum cost. And when it comes to affordable durability, the new Nokia C22 offers better durability against drops, giving you a rugged device you can trust to keep you going for longer.” Adam Ferguson, Head of Product Marketing at HMD Global.
The screen is also identical to the C22, but the design differs from the two-tone glass back and the expanded color options: charcoal, verdant green and beach pink. The phone is also IP52 rated, with a 5000mAh battery and a 2MP macro camera. However, the main camera is a 50MP unit, so you can expect better shots than the C32.
The Nokia C32 comes in Charcoal, Autumn Green and Beach Pink colors and is available in 3/64GB and 4/64GB memory and storage configurations. Global average 139 EUR (GBP 122, USD 146 and INR 12154).
The Nokia C22 comes in Midnight Black and Sand colors and is available in 2/64GB and 3/64GB memory and storage configurations. Global average 129 EUR (GBP 113, USD 136 and INR 11280) Check local availability.
