N okia Mobile quietly announced the new affordable Nokia C02 mid-range device yesterday. Based on the specs and design, this should cover the world of entry-level smartphones. The Nokia C02 is hidden behind the model numbers TA -1460, TA -1501 and TA -1522 and the codename Cypher. It offers IP52 waterproofing and a robust frame for the wallet.
The 3000 mAh battery should be enough to power the device throughout the day. The hardware isn't that power-hungry, as there's a 5.45-inch FWVGA+ resolution display and a combination of a 5MP main and 2MP selfie camera.
A quad-core 1.4GHz processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage should be enough to run the Andro12 GO version smoothly.
What's most interesting about the C02 is its IP52 rating, although the back cover can be removed to accommodate the battery and SIM cards.
The Nokia C02 is very understated and low-end by today's standards, with features like a 5.45-inch LCD screen with 18:9 aspect ratio and FWVGA+ resolution of 960×480 pixels, a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and 2 megapixel front camera.
The system chip is said to be quad-core and clocked at 1.4 gigahertz. The Nokia C02 has 2 gigabytes of RAM and 32 gigabytes of internal storage, which can be expanded to a maximum of 256 gigabytes with a microSD memory card.
The Nokia C02 battery has a capacity of 3000 mAh. The battery can be easily removed and replaced. Charging takes place via a 5-watt Micro-USB connector. In addition, the Nokia C02 has a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Nokia C02 supports 4G LTE mobile network connection as well as Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n / Bluetooth 4.2 connections. The Nokia C02 does not include a fingerprint reader, but facial recognition based on the front-facing camera is available.
The Nokia C02 measures 148.7 x 71.2 x 10 millimeters and weighs 191 grams. The back of the phone is made of PC plastic with a nanotextured coating. In terms of durability, the phone is rated IP52. You can choose between two colors: practically black Charcoal and dark cyan Dark Dyan.
