Nokia 9 Pureview will not receive the Android 11 update

It’s sad news for any Nokia 9 PureView phone owner who unfortunately doesn’t get the Android 11 update according to the latest information.

HMD Global has promised that those with 9 PureView devices will receive mandatory updates in a timely manner, lasting at least two years. So far, Nokia has kept its promise, but the Nokia 9 PureView is one of the exceptions. Although Android 11 for Nokia 9 PureView is expected to be released in the third quarter of 2021, HMD Global has announced it has decided not to submit the promised update.

According to HMD Global, “an incompatibility between the camera and the software would greatly degrade the user experience, which would not meet our high standards”. Despite the fact that Nokia 9 PureView owners did not provide Android 11, the company said the phone will continue to receive security updates.

Current Nokia 9 PureView owners looking to upgrade to Android 11 will receive a 50% discount on the price of the Nokia XR20 or other X-Series smartphones, depending on regional availability, to make up for not being able to deliver on their promise.
