Unfortunately, smartphone users with Nokia 8.3 5G and Nokia 3.4 can't enjoy this New Year's surprise! You read very well, unfortunately you are not mistaken! Nokia's software update again proves flawed with the recently launched Nokia 8.3 5G and Nokia 3.4. Unfortunately, according to current feedback, the Nokia Camera application cannot be used with the normal (default) device setting!

The native Nokia Camera app was last updated on July 1 and cannot be used with affected models! But good luck in this misfortune, that there is a solution to the problem experienced!

Currently, according to feedback, using a phone date before December 1, 2020 will allow the camera to be used as well as using the time provided by the internet to solve the problem! I recommend all Nokia 8.3 5G and Nokia 3.4 owners to use an alternative camera app on their phone!

Workaround:

  • 1) Go to your settings

  • 2) Open ‘System’

  • 3) Select ‘Date & time’

  • 4) Turn off ‘Use network-provided time’ (UK) or ‘Automatic date & time’ (US)

  • 5) Adjust the date to 2020 – 12 – 30 (or earlier)

  • 6) Open the camera which will now work normally

    - Step 7 and 8 can be skipped by Nokia 3.4 Users -

  • 7) Go to camera settings

  • 8) Disable ‘Scene detection’

  • 9) Go back to settings

  • 10) Open ‘System’

  • 11) Select Date & time

  • 12) Turn on ‘Use network-provided time’ (UK) or ‘Automatic date & time’ (US)
