HMD Global took the joke seriously, so it made the Nokia 300 4G Powerbank, claims a source who regularly provides reliable information about the company's products under the name @smashx_60 in a new post. The Nokia 300 4G Powerbank probably uses the hardware of the also push-button Nokia 235 4G, and it looks similar to that device, but based on the published image, it will have a knurled surface on the side to help grip it.
With the Nokia 300 4G Powerbank, HMD Global will soon introduce an unusual basic feature phone - which can also be used as a power bank thanks to its extra-large battery and rechargeability. A leak has revealed the main details about the traditional phone ahead of its release.
The 300 4G Powerbank isn't turbocharged with HMD's recently introduced AI solutions like other new Nokias, but it will likely run the S30+ operating system. The phone will be equipped with a 2.4” TFT display, FM radio, 3.5mm jack, LED flashlight and a dedicated power button, and there will be a USB-C connector at the bottom.
The smartphone will apparently be available in beige, green or black colors. The Nokia 300 4G Powerbank does not have the AI button and selfie camera that are typically found on HMD Global’s latest feature phones. Instead, the phone can be used as a power bank, as the name suggests. For this, HMD Global has also included a USB-C port that can charge connected devices with up to 5 watts of power. The Nokia 300 4G’s battery was rated at 3,750 mAh, which offers more than twice the capacity of the Nokia 235 4G, for example.
