V ertu, founded as a luxury brand by Nokia, has unveiled its new Agent Q smartphone. Unfortunately, Nokia no longer has anything to do with Vertu, but is independently owned. In marketing, the Vertu Agent Q is being touted as the world's first AI agent phone.
The phone has a Ruby Key function button that connects to the Ruby Talk service. According to the press release, requests made to Ruby Talk are forwarded to the AIGS network, a network of over 200 specialized agents, to fulfill them. Previously, Vertu phones were known for their concierge phone service, but this has now been partially replaced by AI agents. However, 24/7 phone service is still available if needed.
"AIGS is a smart evolution of our legendary concierge service. It combines 23 years of experience serving a discerning clientele with proactive artificial intelligence that anticipates your needs. Crucially, when AI reaches its limits, a dedicated human concierge seamlessly steps in 24/7, ensuring the perfect combination of efficiency and human empathy," Vertu's website says."
The phone features a 6.02-inch AMOLED display with 2340x1080 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate, Qualcomm's top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, up to the penultimate generation, 16GB of RAM, 512GB or 1TB of storage, and a 5,565mAh battery with 65W fast charging.
On the back, there is a 50MP main camera with a 1/1.56-inch Sony IMX906 sensor, 35mm focal length, variable f/1.59-4.0 aperture and optical image stabilization, a 50MP 122-degree ultra-wide camera with a 1/2.88-inch OmniVision OV50D sensor and macro shooting support, and a 64MP 2x optical zoom telephoto camera with a 1/2-inch OmniVision OV64B sensor and optical image stabilization.
On the front, there is a 32MP camera. The device also includes a dedicated A5 encryption chip, stereo speakers, 5G mobile network connectivity, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC. Phone buyers will also have access to 10 terabytes of cloud storage.
The Agent Q is said to contain 320 hand-assembled parts. The back of the phone is made of calfskin or alligator leather. The Vertu Agent Q is available at Harrods in London and can also be purchased from Vertu's own online store. There are a number of style options available in a variety of colors. The lowest price is €5,100 (GBP 4,435, USD 5,953, INR 523,637) for the calfskin version. Prices range from €6,920-7,680 for the Alligator Gold Accent version and €8,530-14,020 for the Alligator Gold Accent version. Additionally, the special edition in Himalayan alligator is available for €18,830 (GBP 16,377, USD 21,979, INR 1,933,125) and with diamonds for €103,880 (GBP 90,354, USD 121,264, INR 10,666,294).
