F innish company HMD Global has leaked new product images of the yet-to-be-announced Key2 and Arc2 smartphones. The leaker who shared the images is known as "HMD MEMES" on X, the number one leaker.
The leaked images reveal a lot about the device itself. The first thing that catches your eye is the construction of the phone. It appears to be a transparent metal body, reminiscent of premium phones from a few years ago.
The design reflects the Fabula Design-inspired approach that HMD has used on previous Nokia phones, but now combined with straight, angular edges. The end result looks modern, but at the same time a bit nostalgic. The rear camera module gets special attention. The two large lenses and the flash next to them form a whole that resembles a "face".
The leak suggests that the main camera will be equipped with a 108-megapixel sensor and optical image stabilization (OIS). This suggests that HMD is targeting the mid- to upper-middle class, at least in terms of photography. The fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button also stands out in the images, which is increasingly popular, especially in mid-range devices.
For now, the name, release date, and more detailed specifications of the device are completely unclear. However, the leak gives a strong indication that HMD may be looking for a new direction with its design, if the device ever makes it to the market.
