Lars Silberbauer has been appointed Chief Marketing Officer of HMD Global

HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, today appointed Lars Silberbauer as its new Chief Marketing Officer. Silberbauer previously planned and implemented strategic marketing for the world's most successful brands, such as the International Olympic Committee, LEGO and MTV, and he brings the wealth of experience he acquired to his new position.

Lars Silberbauert, Chief Marketing Officer, HMD Global, said: "I'm delighted to be joining HMD Global at such an exciting time. We recently launched Circular, a revolutionary subscription service that aims to change the way we think about phone ownership and created the most environmentally friendly phones I look forward to supporting the business in launching new products and working with teams to find more ways to deliver quality mobile technology and services to our consumers around the world," said Silberbauer.

Silberbauer is responsible for HMD Global's brand marketing and commercial strategies for Nokia smartphones, mobile phones, tablets and accessories, as well as HMD Global's consumer and business services.

Silberbauer will report directly to HMD Global CEO Florian Seiche, who will continue to develop the long-term growth strategy for the entire Nokia device portfolio and HMD Global services.

Prior to his appointment as Chief Marketing Officer of HMD Global, Silberbauer led the International Olympic Committee's brand and marketing team as well as the digital team. He also served as head of MTV Digital Studios, where he focused on growing MTV across digital and social channels. Silberbauer also served as global senior director at LEGO, where he revolutionized the company's digital footprint and transformed a brand that had no social media presence into one of the most influential digital brands in the world.

Silberbauer is a familiar speaker at global forums and conferences. He has previously presented at Cannes Lions, Open World San Francisco and LeWeb in France and is happy to share his expertise on digital transformation, social media, content marketing and the future of media.
