HMD announced via Discord that the result of their fusion project will be presented at the IFA event. IFA 2024, the world's largest consumer electronics trade show, will be held September 6-10 in Berlin, Germany.
Finland's HMD Global has confirmed that it will unveil its Fusion phone ahead of IFA on September 5 in Berlin. HMD first announced the Fusion in February when it launched its new strategy. The idea behind the phone is to offer accessory manufacturers and developers the opportunity to produce so-called smart clothes for the phone that offer various additional functions.
Back in February, HMD also made design files and software integration information available to start developing shells with additional features.
Based on the previous description, HMD Fusion accessory covers allow you to support things like a code reader, game controllers, extra battery or wireless charging. Some shells with additional features are initially visible from the HMD itself, but there is no information yet on exactly what the shells will be that will eventually be realized.
