CES or the International Consumer Electronics Show is the premium event of the technology sector. It will take place between January 9 and 12, 2024 at the usual location, the Las Vegas Convention Center, where HMD Global, or HMD America, will now also be present. This year, the Finnish company that operates Nokia-branded devices rented a booth in Murano 3201A, which is the location of the meeting. Last year, HMD struck a similar deal and unveiled several US-based devices.

H uman Mobile Devices (HMD) has introduced the HMD Pulse+ Business Edition, an enterprise smartphone, and a solution designed to make software updates more secure for businesses. The HMD Pulse+ Business Edition is part of the brand's Pulse portfolio, which includes a standard, Pro and Plus version that was launched in April, targeting mainstream consumers.
HMD SVP James Robinson said: The main idea behind the HMD Pulse+ Business Edition is to enable "the longest support for device security updates" compared to the consumer offering. Robinson noted that this was one of the hottest requests from corporate and government customers across Europe.
The HMD Pulse+ Business Edition comes with a guaranteed five-year security update, and Robinson added that HMD "doesn't necessarily support consumer devices to the same level" in terms of security patches.

Other built-in features include PIN-only power off and 'PIN encryption', the latter of which scrambles the keypad after the PIN is entered, adding an extra layer of security.
The device boasts a design similar to the Pulse+ consumer version, with a 6.5-inch screen and a dual camera system. It has a 5000mAH battery with up to 59 hours of battery life and 128GB of storage.
HMD remains committed to its repairability system with the iFixit repair kit, which it has already introduced for Nokia-branded devices.
Ming Li, who oversees the marketing of HMD products and offers, said: The company's device will give customers access to logistics giant DHL to "specifically" repair wherever they are in Europe.
Robinson said: there was more work around HMD's enterprise solutions, but "we didn't pay much attention to it as we focused on our consumer launch."
The executive said that he will introduce more company devices this year.
In addition, HMD also introduced the FOTA solution, which allows businesses to remotely manage and control software updates for their fleet of devices. Robinson said that Germany's Deutsche Bahn rail system is already implementing the tools: "The company uses them for its train drivers, they can't have software updates while they're still driving a train, that could be catastrophic."
The HMD Pulse+ Business Edition is available across Europe starting today with an RRP of EUR 199 (GBP 170, USD 216, INR 18024).
