There’s also a 4G modem that allows the chip to operate on cellular networks over Wi-Fi, and a maximum charging power of 18W, though the tablet’s battery capacity hasn’t been revealed yet. Memory and storage configurations are also unknown at this time.
HMD seems to be putting a much bigger emphasis on durability and child safety. The Xplora Go Pad is said to be IP65-rated for dust and water resistance, and can withstand drops of up to 100cm. The software suite is said to include parental controls, web detection, and education-focused AI features. It also lists harmful content blocking among its capabilities.t
The tablet marks another collaboration between HMD and Norwegian company Xplora, which previously debuted the Fusion X1 smartphone. Essentially, it gives parents control over internet and social media access, allowed connections, screen time, and location tracking. The Xplora Go Pad extends this strategy beyond smartphones to the tablet market. Pricing, availability, and full specs haven't been announced yet.
