HMD Global has launched its first smartwatch, the HMD Watch P1, in a new market, featuring a square display and supporting heart rate/blood oxygen monitoring, Bluetooth calling and more. The Watch P1 is now available in the Philippines for a discounted price of PHP 1,990 (GBP 24, EUR 28, USD 33 and INR 3,020) on Lazada, down from PHP 2,190 (GBP 27, EUR 31, USD 36 and INR 3,323) and is currently available in two colors: Silver and Black.
Paired with the right displays, this smartwatch uses a 1.9-inch square display, offers a rotating crown button on the right side, is equipped with a silicone sports strap, supports heart rate and blood oxygen monitoring, as well as basic functions like regular Bluetooth calls, music control, alarm clocks, etc., and charges with contact devices.
The Watch P1 features a rectangular case, a rotating crown, and supports the usual health tracking functions like heart rate and SpO₂ monitoring. It offers Bluetooth calling, message and app notifications, music control, an alarm, and more - making it a balanced daily companion.
The watch can be paired with smartphones via the Pubu Wear app, which is available for Android and iOS. The app allows users to manage notifications, update the watch software, track fitness data, and more.
The Watch P1 supports phones with Android 4.4 or iOS 9 or later, and Bluetooth connectivity is sufficient with version 4.0 or later. Connection management is done with the Pubu Wear app, which can be downloaded from both Google Play and the App Store.
The watch can make calls via Bluetooth, receive notifications, control music playback, and remotely use the phone's camera. In addition, an AI-based voice assistant is available.
The Watch P1 tracks the user's sleep, steps, distance traveled, and a variety of sports performance. It also measures heart rate and blood oxygen saturation. The watch is also available with different colored straps, including white, black, yellow, blue, light green, olive green, and beige. The HMD Watch P1 is equipped with a 250 mAh battery. The exact battery life is not yet known, as it depends on the system used. Since the device is not based on Google's Wear OS platform, it is expected to offer multi-day battery life.
