The HMD Vibe 2 was listed yesterday (Tuesday) and should be the successor to the original Vibe, which was released in 2024. In this sense, its specifications, colors and possible suggested price in Australia have been revealed. Similarly, the European EPREL database records the data of the Fuse, Pulse 2 and Pulse 2 Pro models. With the Vibe 2, HMD Global will soon launch an affordable mid-range smartphone that a retailer can anticipate. The design seems to be based somewhat on the iPhone 17 Pro, the device will receive, among other things, a better main camera and a larger battery.
In general, the Vibe2 will come with a Unisoc T606 platform and 4G connectivity. The technical data sheet includes 4 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage with a microSD slot. The screen, however, is an LCD, measuring 6.75 inches with a 90Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1680 x 720 pixels (HD+).

Retailer JB Hi-Fi is already listing the yet-to-be-announced HMD Vibe 2, which will launch in Australia for AUD 288 (GBP 137, EUR 159, USD 185 and INR 16,159). The budget mid-range smartphone looks a bit old-fashioned, with a wide chin below the display and a notch, but interestingly, HMD Global has recently relied on a very wide camera module in the style of Apple's iPhone 17 Pro.
HMD Global is said to be replacing the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 with a Unisoc Tiger T606, which is even slightly slower with two ARM Cortex-A75 performance cores with a boost clock of up to 1.6GHz and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. HMD Global is giving the mid-range smartphone at least two significant upgrades. First, the 13-megapixel main camera is replaced by a 50-megapixel camera, which is accompanied by only two useless 0.08-megapixel sensors.
Secondly, the battery is increased from 4,000 mAh to 5,000 mAh, and charging is carried out as usual via USB-C, up to 10 watts. The new model is said to be equipped with at least one variant with 4 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash storage. Storage can be expanded using a microSD memory card. The HMD Vibe 2 has a 5 MP selfie camera.
The display is increased to 6.75 inches, and HMD Global is using an IPS panel with a resolution of 720p+ and a frame rate of 90 Hz. The device has a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and the fingerprint sensor is located in the power button on the side of the case. HMD Global ships the Vibe 2 with Android 15 out of the box, but it's unclear how long the budget smartphone will receive software updates.
