CES or the International Consumer Electronics Show is the premium event of the technology sector. It will take place between January 9 and 12, 2024 at the usual location, the Las Vegas Convention Center, where HMD Global, or HMD America, will now also be present. This year, the Finnish company that operates Nokia-branded devices rented a booth in Murano 3201A, which is the location of the meeting. Last year, HMD struck a similar deal and unveiled several US-based devices.

The list of retailers this time reveals a phone with the model name HMD Skyline. The first mentions do not reveal much, but in addition to the name, the version with 8 + 256 gigabytes of memory, Dual-SIM support and the black version are confirmed. The model number of the phone is TA-1688.
HMD Global, the company behind Nokia-branded phones, may launch a new mid-range smartphone called the Skyline. The details come from a Finnish publication, which revealed that the phone will launch in July and will be available at retailers on July 10.
The Skyline will be HMD's premium offering, rumored to cost €520. It will be available in black with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage and dual SIM support. The device is reportedly model number TA-1688.
Other than that, not many details were revealed about the device. However, Skyline is believed to have previously been codenamed Tomacat. If that's the case, expect an FHD+ OLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC.
On the back, the Skyline is likely to feature a triple camera system that includes a 108MP main sensor, an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a macro or depth sensor. A 32 MP camera will be at hand for selfies.
The phone is also expected to pack a 4,900mAh battery with 33W fast charging, IP67 dust and water resistance, and Android 14 pre-installed. There will also be an under-display fingerprint sensor and stereo speakers.
For those looking for a more budget-friendly option, HMD is also said to be working on another device called the Nighthawk. The Nighthawk will share the same FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate as the Skyline, but is said to be powered by a less powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC. It comes with 8GB of RAM and offers 128GB or 256GB of storage.
The Nighthawk also packs a 108MP main camera with an additional rear sensor and retains the 32MP selfie camera. It will have a slightly larger 5000mAh battery. Notably, the Nighthawk will include a headphone jack, and both devices will run Android 14 and have stereo speakers.
