A new HMD-branded smartphone has been spotted on the Geekbench database, and its performance details have been revealed via a benchmark listing. It seems that the device is likely to be the upcoming HMD Pulse 2 Pro smartphone.

This HMD smartphone listed on Geekbench is codenamed "Pearl" and scored 446 and 1495 points in the benchmark platform's single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. Its 4GB RAM variant is already available on Geekbench, and it runs on the previous Android 15 operating system.

While the motherboard codename (ums9230_6h10) suggests that the device could use a Unisoc T6xx series chip (T606/T615/T616), based on the core configuration (2x 1.82GHz cores + 6x 1.61GHz cores), it is likely to be the Unisoc T7250 chip. Furthermore, the ARM Mali-G57 GPU is also built into the device.

Speaking of which, while it was previously said that the HMD Pulse 2 Pro uses the Unisoc T615 chip, along with 6GB of RAM, it could also be the Unisoc T7250 chip that is found in the device, and the HMD 'Pearl' smartphone that has now been listed on Geekbench is likely to be the same HMD Pulse 2 Pro model.

It should also be noted that since the HMD Pulse 2 Pro is expected to offer 4GB and 6GB of RAM, when updating from Android 15, the device will only get Android 16 Go Edition and not the full version of the latest Android OS.

This is because previous reports have already suggested that Android 16 requires at least 6GB of RAM to run, and since the HMD Pulse 2 Pro is also likely to get 4GB of RAM, the Android 16 Go Edition will be available at the time of the update. However, they also say that the current semiconductor price hike will largely bring back 4GB devices, and Google may reconsider its decision.
