G ood News After Bad... It seems that the news of HMD's Fusion 2 modular smartphone being canceled is not true. The same source revealed that an insider confirmed that the device is still in development. HMD is also reportedly working on a new rugged smartphone.
Following a previous report that HMD is discontinuing its modular Fusion smartphone line, new information has emerged that says so. The source is the same one who reported that the Fusion line was discontinued, although there was a caveat that the report was not confirmed.
Citing a friend as an insider source, X account smashx_60 says that the next-generation HMD Fusion is still in the development phase, which means that HMD has not canceled the phone. The post also said that the design of the Fusion 2 is not yet finalized, so any images or information that are circulating are fake.
In a separate post, smashx_60 reiterated that the HMD Fusion 2 is still in development, but also mentioned the fate of a few other models. The information, which has been confirmed by insiders, says that there is no HMD Skyline 2 GT smartphone, and the upcoming HMD Skyline 2 will not have a redesigned (circular) camera island.
