CES or the International Consumer Electronics Show is the premium event of the technology sector. HMD Global has the license to sell Nokia brand phones around the world. While the company initially got off to a good start, momentum slowly waned due to inconsistent launches and hefty price tags. Now, 91mobiles has exclusively learned from industry sources that HMD Global will launch its own branded handsets in India by April 2024. Before you ask, the brand will sell both Nokia-branded phones and HMD Global phones until 2026.

These new phones will initially focus on the online market, with aggressive pricing, targeting budget and mid-range segments and eventually expanding to flagship models. However, it seems that HMD wants to focus on selling Nokia phones in offline markets in India.
As for the operating system of future HMD phones, HMD Global aims to offer more OS updates to its competitors and include an Android operating system similar to Nokia phones.
HMD plans to create a comprehensive product ecosystem that includes tablets, phones and IoT devices that are different from the Nokia product line. HMD Global plans to manufacture all its devices in India and export them to other markets through partnerships with Foxconn, Dixon and Lava.
