HMD Global is preparing several new smartphones for 2026, and a recent leak has already revealed several specifications for the upcoming models. According to the source X-user, four new devices will be coming from the company, which will be the HMD Arc 2, Key 2, Crest 2 and Crest 2 Pro.
Based on the leak, HMD's strategy is divided into two clear categories. The company continues to invest in affordable entry-level smartphones, but it will also introduce slightly more powerful 5G smartphones in the mid-range price range.
The more affordable end is represented by the HMD Arc 2 and Key 2, which are aimed at users who value simplicity and long battery life. Both models use the lighter Android 15 Go Edition, which is optimized for more modest hardware.
HMD Key 2
The HMD Arc 2 offers a 6.56-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, which is still rare in the cheapest price category. Power is provided by the Unisoc T606 soC, supported by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The battery capacity is 5,000 mAh, and it has a charging power of only 10 watts.
The HMD Key 2 largely continues in a similar style, but uses a slightly different Unisoc T310 chip. Otherwise, the devices are very similar, both have a 5-megapixel front camera and a 13-megapixel main camera with a depth sensor on the back.
HMD Crest 2 Pro
However, for many, the Crest series is clearly a more interesting novelty, where the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 5G chip supports 5G connections and better performance.
The top-of-the-line HMD Crest 2 Pro features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The battery size increases to 6,000 mAh, and the charging power increases to 33 watts. On the camera side, the main sensor reaches 64 megapixels, and the package includes three rear cameras. The front camera, on the other hand, has a resolution of 50 megapixels.
HMD Crest 2
The Crest 2 Pro has 8 GB of memory and 256 GB of storage. In addition, there is an IP65-rated design, as well as OZO Audio stereo speakers.
The HMD Crest 2 offers a similar package, with slightly simplified features. There is 6 GB of RAM, the main camera is 50 megapixels, and the screen refresh rate remains at 90 Hz. Other key features remain the same, such as the 6,000 mAh battery and 33W charging.
On the software side, the Crest models come with Android 16, while the cheaper Arc 2 and Key 2 come with Android 15 Go Edition.
So far, HMD has not confirmed the release schedule or pricing of the devices. Based on leaks, the new products have first appeared in the Indian market, and may later expand to other regions.
